About OnRecord
What is OnRecord?
OnRecord aggregates and structures what public figures have said about important issues. We collect statements, quotes, and positions from politicians, business leaders, commentators, and other influential people, making it easy to understand their views on topics that matter.
Our goal is to provide a neutral, factual reference for anyone wanting to know: "What does [person] think about [topic]?"
Methodology
We use a combination of automated data collection and AI-assisted summarisation:
- Topic discovery: We identify topics people are searching for by analysing search autocomplete data. This ensures we cover topics with genuine public interest.
- Source collection: For each person-topic pair, we gather primary sources including speeches, interviews, official statements, voting records, and verified social media posts.
- AI summarisation: We use large language models to synthesise sources into structured summaries, key quotes, and timelines. All summaries are grounded in real sources.
- Human review: We periodically review generated content for accuracy and flag items that need correction.
Data Sources
Our content is compiled from publicly available sources including:
- Official speeches and statements
- News interviews and press conferences
- Legislative voting records
- Verified social media accounts
- Published books and articles
- Debate transcripts
- Official government documents
Every factual claim on OnRecord is traceable to a source, which is listed at the bottom of each topic page.
Update Frequency
We update our content on a rolling basis:
- Weekly: High-traffic pages are checked for new developments
- Monthly: New topics are added based on emerging search interest
- Quarterly: New public figures are added based on relevance
Each page shows when it was last updated. If you notice outdated information, please contact us.
